How do we have more time? A magic question. The secret: We slow down.

In the momentum of my home life I find my focus is tied to the day to day necessities of work, family, and house/errands. Time away the time I relish to slow down, take stock, refine my choices and return home with a renewed sense of possibility and priority to support what most fulfills me.

Daily yoga, lecture, art, local food, rest, evening games if you like.

Redesign your relationship to time. Expect to learn how to make miracles. Expect artistry. Expect to explore the magic of rest in the wonder of the west..

A time away for focus, freedom, depth, growth, community. All yours.

Meet the Teacher

Hello! I am Martha McAlpine, RYT-500+, EdM. I am many things, like you are, one of which is a yoga teacher from the Tantric lineage of Yogarupa Rod Stryker and Kundalini through the teaching of Kia Miller.

I have a profound love of texts, of learning, of leading, and listening. I read aloud before all our classes and the readings prime us for the opportunity to move beyond what we have known or what we have carried into an unknown that has been waiting for us. We are bound by what we know. We are bound by the movements we have made. There is a landscape both as us and in us that is waiting to reveal more of who we are to our present lives.

I would love to share what I know with where you are and watch what you make of it; to revel in what we become together.

My talent lies in making the seemingly insurmountable into a form or effort right for you, this moment, this body, this energy, this level of interest. I believe that we are currently sitting more than we were made to, and that modern asana requires additional considerations of mobility for longevity to tend our modern times. I believe we are awake to a frequency of love and light that wasn’t available before. I believe that kundalini practices can direct our frequency into a new life that we are hungry for.  I believe that you and I in a practice together will find what neither of us has known but what we both needed. I am ready. Meet me on the mat.

I am also a homeschool mama, a devoted plant-based chef who loves to explore farm markets and seasonal surprises, and I reside beside a wide Maryland river with 7 bicycles, my Love, and 2 ginger tabbies.

Is that everything? That feels like everything.

Yup, it’s for all levels, that’s my magic, I will make something in the moment, every moment just for you. Yup, we will be moving.

Yup, we will do meditation and breathwork and maybe even burpees and faceyoga with oils, but you know it will be perfect and engaging and worthwhile and always always always you can do what you want and skip the rest.

Anything personal or practice-related send me an email.  marthamcalpine@yahoo.com

Any questions about travel, costs, registration, or if you can see the sunrise from room 14, these are questions for Shannon. She’s the best. shannon.retreatplanning@gmail.com.

I can’t wait. Oh, to be together in person. This is the stuff of dreams. We’ve been doing so well in the mornings on zoom, but now, now we have the chance to be together and refresh our sense of time and ourselves. Together.

Share this page and bring a friend who could use some time away.  And if they need to meet me first, let’s set up a time for them to zoom with me and say hello and answer any questions. I’ll meet you on the mat, and we’ll be in New Mexico. Shannon + Martha xx
